Magic Moments

Year 1 Great Fire of London Workshop

Year 1 had a fabulous visit from Mary (Freshwater Theatre Company) who came all the way from London, Pudding Lane in 1666. She told us all about the events of the Great Fire of London! We acted some of the famous historical parts such as Samuel Pepys and King Charles II, danced a fire dance with ribbons and learned lots and lots of facts. It was sparktactular!

Year 4 visit the Valley of Invention – October 2022!

Year 4 have visited Enginuity in Coalbrookdale as part of their Autumn 1 topic. Linking with learning in science and Design Technology, the children built a power buggy using a wide variety of materials on their visit to the Valley of Invention at the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Thinking about forces, electrical circuits and customisation – each team had a theme, sponsor and name. After all of this, it was a race against the clock to see which vehicle sped down the track quickest.

This was the children’s first day out as a class in three years and we couldn’t have been more proud of all of them.

Well done, Y4!

If you’d like to see any of the power buggies, feel free to pop in to Y4 to take a look!

GANAS is back!

Thank you to everyone for your amazing GANAS projects. We loved seeing them and I know that all the children enjoyed telling everyone about them. The most common use of ganas in Spanish is with the verb tener: “tengo ganas de…”, which in in English can be translated to “want” or “feel like” or to have the “urge” to do something.

GANAS projects replaced our weekly maths and English home learning across the school during the first half of the summer term and our expo took place on Wednesday, 25th May 2022.

Check out these amazing pictures of just a small number of projects!
