GANAS homelearning project day! February 2024

Congratulations to all the children for their sensational GANAS projects. We are never disappointed at the creativity and range of learning that comes in. The children were so excited to share their projects and so proud of their achievements. The learning that has happened to produce these projects is unbelievable, not just just subject learning, but so many skills have been involved. Thank you to all parents, carers and grandparents that supported the children with their projects and who came to our show, we hope you were impressed. Well done TEAM!

It’s A Baby!

The children performed brilliantly in this years twist on the traditional nativity story.  The singing, dancing and acting was outstanding!

Thank you to all parents for supporting the event and providing such brilliant costumes.  It was truly a magical afternoon.

Thank you to Rev Davis for allowing us to perform our play in the beautiful St. Nicholas church.  It makes the occasion so special.  Thank you parents for donating £274.00 in the collection which will be shared with the church and school.  The children really enjoyed performing and you could see this in their faces.  The occasion was joyous!

Y4 Residential visit to Condover Hall

Y4 had an amazing time at the ever-fabulous Condover Hall recently for their 3-day residential. The visit was designed to promote independence, teamwork, creativity and problem solving skills. The thirty intrepid explorers tried their hand at all sorts of activities including abseiling, archery, zipwire and laser-tag! On the second evening, there was even a silent disco (and even the teachers got to show their moves).

We were delighted that the behaviour and attitude of all our children was praised by the leaders at Condover Hall and we know that the children built memories that will last a lifetime.

So Year 3… same place next year?

World Book Day 2023

Thank you to the PTFA for paying for our author visit and buying school some of her books. The children really enjoyed meeting Sarah Oliver online and they asked her some great questions. We all came away inspired to write our own stories/books. In class we have been writing our own versions of Sarah’s book, ‘The Best World Book Week Ever!’ We finished book week today with our dressing up fun and special parade and assembly to share our stories. The children also received a voucher to exchange this for a free book!

Thank you to the whole community for supporting this event. It delivers such an important message about the power of reading.

Faith Trail 2023

Year 3 and 4 had a fabulous time visiting Derby to take part in the faith trail.  We visited a Hindu Mandir, an Islamic Mosque and a Sikh Gurdwara.  We learned about how the different faiths worship and about their customs and rituals.  Everyone was really friendly and we got given Prashad gifts of sweets in the Mandir and got to try vegetable curry and chapati bread in the Gurdwara! Yummy! It was a fascinating day out.  Thank you to parents, PTFA and school for funding this amazing trip.
