School Council
What is it?
Our school Council is a group of pupils who are elected to represent the views of all pupils and to improve their school.

What does it do?
Our school council does a number of things:
- The school council meets – with a teacher present – to discuss and sort out problems.
- Members of the school council is responsible for carrying out the ideas that have been agreed, such as planning events, improving the school environment or resources, writing newsletter articles, or helping interview new staff.
What jobs are there?
Each year, every class will elect 2 representatives to be members of the school council.
How we can make our school council great?
We aim to represent the views of all pupils and gets things done.
These are some things that make a council effective:
- Regular meetings
- A council that is not too big
- Class councils that meet regularly
- Good communication between representatives and their class
- Training for school council members
- Smaller groups (subcommittees) working on specific events or issues
- A budget (however small)
- Annual evaluations
